News
(last updated 4/08)
Beginning
this May you can see me in the D.J. Sullivan players presentation
of Holy Ghosts, a play written by Romulus Linney. The play
is about a congregation of Pentecostal snake handlers and explores
both the extreme fragility and rapture of the human condition.
Equally funny and distrubing, this play is the most challenging
show I've ever been a part of.
Show
times for Holy Ghosts:
May
3rd at 7pm
May
9th and 10th at 7pm
May
16th and 17th at 7pm
May
23rd and 24th at 7pm
May
25th at 2pm
The theater
is located at 1531 Tyler Street. Take the Washington East exit from
163. I Hope to see you there!
- Book Promos:
I've had the pleasure to create audio promos for Kay
Kenyon's Bright of the Sky and Toby
Bishop's Horsmistress Saga. You can hear both promos
in Adventures in Scifi Publishing, or click on the podcast page
for a sample.
Book promos
are a wonderful way to market your book. I'm running a special through
May 16th. Sign up for a book promo by then and receive 15% off!

- Article
Published: I had an article published this month at Clarkesworld
Magazine. The article, entitled Countdown to Singularity: A
Conversation with Vernor Vinge, features my talk with the esteemed
science fiction author about the rise of superhuman intelligence.
The issue also features work by Tim Pratt and Tobias Buckell.
- Season
2 of Adventures
in Scifi Publishing debuts January 12th with a double feature
of Kevin J. Anderson and Sean Williams, both New York Times bestselling
authors. We'll be introducing new segments for season two, reading
listener comments, and having a good time. So make sure to download
the show. We'll follow that up up with a second episode on January
26th featuring Terry Goodkind, a rock star of fantasy fiction. Not
to be missed!
Who is Shaun Farrell, you say?
Over the last
few years I have interviewed some of the biggest and brightest authors
in the fields of science fiction and fantasy literature. I started
with a bang in 2005 when I interviewed Ray Bradbury for the ezine
Far Sector
SFFH. I spent the next 18 months providing interviews for that
magazine.
When Far
Sector closed its digital doors I created the Adventures
in Scifi Publishing podcast. So far the show has featured
Kim Harrison, John Ringo, David Weber, Timothy Zahn, Tracy Hickman,
Terry Goodkind, Kevin J. Anderson, Carrie Vaughn, Tad Williams,
and many other authors and editors. If you like science fiction
and fantasy literature, if you want to learn more about the publishing
industry, or if you're an aspiring writer, then give the podcast
a try. You just might like it. Did I mention it's absolutely free?
